Founded in 2020, Traction K9 Kennels was launched by a team of professional trainers and behaviorists who saw the critical gap in boarding for high-needs dogs. Our staff includes degreed experts, lion and bear trainers, monkey trainers, PSA-titled trainers, and former vet hospital managers. Together, we bring advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with family pets, working K9s, and sport dogs. We sent our fear reactive Belgian Malinois to stay with her for three weeks doing board and train. Not only did we get everything we could've hoped for, but we got to be involved every single step of the way. Ashley was so positive and explained her decisions and welcomed us into the training process, which made being away from our dog so much easier. She genuinely loved him and treated him like her own for the three weeks that he was with her. Not only do we have a much happier and braver dog, but we also now have a safe place to send him if we need to be out of town, knowing he'll be treated with understanding and the love he needs to absolutely thrive.

Finding traction k9 was a happy accident, I was going on vacation and a place we were planning to board Bruce ended up not responding but I googled a “reactive dog boarding” and stumble across traction K9 and I’m all the way in San Antonio. Mara was extremely kind and understanding and Ashley was extremely well informed on handling a dog who is reactive!

The facility itself is amazing I’ve never seen a boarding facility that is no contact which for any dog owner with a reactive dog from mild to severe knows that finding a boarding is probably close to none unless you have a trainer who knows your dog. So happy to find them , they updated me with pictures which was a plus I could tell that Bruce was being well looked after and I could enjoy my vacation for the first time in 4 years with my whole family able to come. It is an understatement how valuable this facility is! They also accommodated to Bruce not knowing how to use a doggy door, I mean it when I say I’m literally so glad I found this place Im a forever customer, and already recommend to everyone I know with a reactive dog.

We had the necessity of finding a place for him to stay at while we went on vacation. Although it was short notice. They were able to receive him. I love how easy it was to communicate with the and Ashley would text me if there was anything I needed to worry about. I also loved we would get pictures and a report card so we would not have to worry how he was doing. Due to his behavioral issues I have to be selective on who boards him until I get them more under control. This is my first time with Ashley as his normal boarding facility was booked and I was taken aback by how sophisticated and put together the kennels were. The daily report cards plus picture made my days without him even better! So awesome. I communicated with Ashley upon drop off and pick up, and she was exactly what I needed to feel the comfort of leaving him in her hands. Will for sure be repeat customers. So grateful to have people who really understand different situations and types of dogs and make it seem so easy to deal with

I felt at ease knowing he was here, even during his stay of 2.5 weeks. When I picked him up he was healthy and happy! We got photos and report cards regularly and the booking portal is very easy to use. So happy that Traction K9 exists and offers boarding services for reactive dogs. 100% recommend!
